*keeping eye lids open with a toothpick*
I’ve always thought that phrase was funny…now there’s this harsh reality about it! We are off to a exhausting start of a new school year. It’s a huge change for the whole house really because we have both of the boys in school and I’m trudging away at my classes too. As usual we have the chaotic schedule. I’m not sure what we will do when our lives aren’t a crazy scheduled mess but we are years away from that…maybe when the boys have grown up (which is definitely something I dare not think about because they’ll stay “little”, right?).
Braysen is officially a Kindergartner and is in all day! Merrick started preschool 3′s. Tues/Thurs am’s. I have more credit hours this semester and more work hours. What was I thinking? Plus, there’s running all of us to/from places and we haven’t started the extra-curricular sports stuff yet. I’m waiting to schedule the swim lessons/karate type stuff until October so we can get our bearings with the current schedule first!
I thought it’d be funny to put a picture of our spreadsheet that I make up every semester and give to everyone involved in the chaos (in-laws, daycare, work and of course it hangs on the fridge). We also keep a Google calendar organized with various lovely color coordinated calendars. I’m not sure what we’d do without Google calendar! They are blurred out a bit because I don’t think people need to exactly see what our schedule looks like ..privacy issue type of thing but you get the general idea! Chaos I tell ya!
I’m doing lots of posts right now instead of giant ones..or trying to separate out them a bit!

Lists and more lists….
Summer means a break from chaos but it’s a time to get caught up ..whether it be projects around the house or just sleep! Lists get made on sticky notes or Evernote (iPhone app) as the case may be. In the midst of all that I’m hoping that we get the time to squeeze in some fun activities with the family over the summer.
So, this is my list of place or things I hope we can do over the summer. Wonder how many we’ll get checked off by the end!
- Newport Bay Aquarium (have a Groupon I bought earlier this year for the 4 of us so we have no excuse)
- Gilbert House Children’s Museum in Salem
- Camping trip to Moonshine Park (at least twice if not 3 times!)
- OMSI museum
- Hagg lake fishing for the boys
- Oregon coast trip for a weekend or so
- Evergreen Waterpark
- Otter beach water park / pool
- Berry picking
- Tangleboxing
Personal/Family/House Goals:
- Get back into the swimming laps groove / working out at the clubhouse
- Yoga (already started this)
- Eat healthier – less sugar, more planned out meals & try some new recipes
- Get the boys to try new foods
- Date nights with husband / quality time!
- Walks with the boys
- Help Merrick continue working on his speech at home with the tips from his ST.
- Help Braysen work on his letters/writing and introduce him to bigger books for reading
- Get stuff off to Goodwill and make a dump trip
- Get boys clothes ready for Fall consignment
- List things on Craigslist that are remaining from the garage sale
- Finish burning boys pictures to DVD back up
- Get mint.com budget caught back up and in order
- Finish religion class without grumbling too much over taking a summer course! (finishing should be np but the grumbling could be an issue!)
- Mulch front and back yards
- Find a few more plants for some bare spots in the backyard! (Have some coupons for Farmington Gardens that need to be used)
House of exhaustion
Life since my Colorado trip has been a blur & not in a good way! When it rains it pours as they say!
Patrick was rushed to urgent care this morning & is on meds for sinusitis gone bad…resulting with both inner ear infections & overall crappy feeling. He pretty much spent the weekend in bed, sleeping, weak & exhausted!! It’s rare he’s sick & this is probably the worst I’ve seen.
It seems Braysen might be following as he was sent home early with a fever today too!
Merrick is still fighting with a cough & wheeze lingering from his near pneumonia urgent care scare.
I’m alive ..barely & exhausted! My class this semester is intense, frustrating & overall stressful. My first test was horrible & I am dreading the results! So much going on & trying to stay afloat! Our schedules are full of juggling acts of someone here or there, trying to figure out who drops off, who picks up & where should we be!
Just need to be able to breathe….
Seems like there has been a lot of meds around lately…we will get a break soon right?
The good news is Patrick told me to have the house cleaner over again so I’ll call to get her over soon! I need some relief, we are sinking!!
