The cutest sad face!

In honor of Merrick’s 2 month doc visit I bring you the cutest sad face you’ll see and a great head of hair on top of that!!!

He is 13 lbs 7 oz.  (MY GOSH HE’S BIG!) and 24 inches long.  I swear he makes Braysen look tiny at this age!  But they are both tall kiddos, just way different in weights.  Merrick is 86% for both height and weight whereas Braysen was 20-25% for weight and 80-90% for heights.

We also decided to do a alternative vaccine schedule to spread out his vaccines a bit.  I wasn’t comfortable having him get a bunch of shots at once like Braysen did so we had only 2 done today (1 of which was an oral) and his PKU screen.  I’m going to be following something similar to the Dr. Sears vaccine schedule but we are going to meet with our doc. next month to discuss it a bit more when he gets his next 2.  We didn’t have our regular doctor today but he did come out to see us in the waiting room for a bit before we went in and we discussed it a bit.  He was very open to it and said to just email him with questions too if I want before our visit so we can discuss it that way also.  I was very impressed with him (but I always have loved our pediatrician anyhow!).  Well back to the peace & quiet of nap time!

Here’s the munchkin last night after a bath and in a sort of sad state! (but I had to take pics)

First smiles

Merrick has been smiling for a little while now but I kept missing it on camera.  Finally, I got it the other day. He is especially smiley in the mornings and coo’s up quite the conversation too.

Here’s the first of many smiles I’m sure I’ll get :)

New stroller!

Since I finally have a place to talk “mom” stuff I thought I’d post about our new stroller since I LOVE it!

We have an Inglesina Zippy from when Braysen was born.  We can put our car seat on it and it has worked pretty good for us.  I really like the quick fold and overall it’s a great stroller!  The thing is, I’ve wanted an Umbrella lightweight stroller to just toss and go with.  (not saying we don’t do that with the Zippy though too)  Braysen is kind of an anti-stroller kiddo (don’t get me started on how that all happened!) and I really had this hope that an umbrella stroller would be easier for him to get in/out and he’d be more comfy in it.  I wanted a Maclaren (still do actually!) but I saw some good reviews on a new one called the “G-Lite” from Uppababy when they started appearing.  They are fairly new and just caught my attention.  I thought of a double stroller for the 2 kiddos but the $$ when Braysen doesn’t even like to ride in the stroller turned us off for now.

Well, after putting off getting a new stroller we came across a deal we couldn’t pass up!  The deals site I visit daily (Mama Bargains)** had the Uppababy G-Lite stroller for only $49.99 +s/h which is like 50% off so I couldn’t pass it up!!!!  It is sooo lightweight at just around 8lbs. and folds up nice & easy!! Braysen likes it surprisingly so all is good in stroller land.  He sometimes likes to push it himself instead of sitting in it but it still is working out better for us so far! You can see the stroller in the post below with pics from the Waterfront.

There are like a million stroller options out there, even way more so then when I first looked before Braysen was born.   I’m happy with these 2 for now but I still think I’m going to end up wanting a Maclaren eventually for Merrick.  Guess time will tell!

**will do a post later about Mama Bargains website because I think it rocks by the way**
