29ish weeks and anxiety!

I had my midwife appt. last week and had the pleasure of drinking that nasty orange crap for the glucose test. Went through all the usual stuff and baby is head down, was hiccupping away while listening to the heartbeat, measuring right on target and my blood pressure is staying in check so far. I passed the glucose test but found out I’m anemic. I keep saying, “if it isn’t one thing, it’s another.” So, last night Patrick cooked steaks and I’m trying to find ways to fit more Iron into my diet so my next blood draw looks better. I’m not a big meat eater while pregnant so I’m not too surprised but I do still eat a ton of veggies and other sources.

The whole 29 and some weeks thing right now has me on freak out mode, knowing that I’m probably only at most 9-10 weeks away from delivery. (Pretty sure that I’ll deliver early again). I can’t help but feel like we have so much to do and buy even before this baby comes into the world. We can’t even come up with a for sure name…think we have our 1st but no middle.
Cut for length~ rest is about my cleaning / nesting and anxiety issues!

I’ve been in a cleaning nesting mode for weeks. Pretty much since we got back from KC for Christmas. I’ve cleaned almost every closet/pantry/cabinet out in the whole house. I’ve bought organizer boxes for storing things and pretty much have gone room to room cleaning, getting rid of junk and organizing to my hearts content. I’m slowly running out of closets/cabinets and rooms to organize! We have finished the painting stuff downstairs and I’ve moved upstairs. I finished the laundry room yesterday and I have the paint bought for the nursery so we’ll be starting that tomorrow. The kicker of this is: the stuff that people see when they come over – countertops, bathrooms, dusting, floors, baseboards and the likes….I can’t get myself to clean! I am organizing the beejeezus out of things that people never even look at. I really need to get cleaning some of this other stuff too! Well, I take that back…I cleaned our bathroom today. By clean, I mean wiped all our baseboards down even, cleaned the usual counters, toilet, tub and shower and mopped the floor. We even tag teamed and dusted our bedroom set (boy does dark wood get dusty quick!) and Patrick did the vacuuming both upstairs and downstairs. He steam cleaned the carpet in our great room even this last week! Tomorrow I have got to tackle the kitchen counters, maybe start dusting and if I’m really ambitious I’ll tackle the baseboards and trim work. Why do bills, catalogs and random other papers always pile up on the counter by the phone btw?

Braysen’s big boy bed and dresser will be here the 1st week of March so we’ll be needing to buy his mattress set for that soon. I want to hit up the Ikea store for shelves for the kiddos room and the laundry room, maybe a book shelf or two and a dresser for the new nursery plus some odds and ends that I’ve been eyeing since it opened to organize my magazines, closets and laundry room. On top of that trip, I need to actually start buying some of the “baby stuff” that is on my list. (yes, I am a list person!) I’m having MAJOR anxiety over the fact that I don’t have some of my necessities bought for after delivery and I’ll end up on bed rest early, then sending Patrick off to get stuff (that he’ll have no clue about) because I haven’t bought it all yet. I do have some coupons at Babies R Us that I need to use before the end of the month though!

We are having friends over next Saturday night since we haven’t entertained for a while. I’ll be cooking up a storm for that coming this week. I thought it’d be nice to get everyone together again before this baby comes but I’ll probably also be organizing some kind of small birthday party for kiddo’s 2nd bday in March. Nothing like his 1st birthday blowout but cute never the less.

Enough rambling for now~
Heather
