I’m around…honest!
I didn’t disappear off the face of the earth! ? Thanks to those that asked! I did however disappear from online / the computer for a while and I’m still scarce to be honest. I realized that when my own grandma and mom were writing me asking me how I was doing, that I basically had dropped off the face of the earth a bit or so it had seemed! Basically, before Christmas things got hectic with the trip to KC for family and then on top we found out that I had signs of protein in my urine (way early for this to happen). I’ve been watched carefully since and so far things are ok but it is very likely that this baby will come early like Braysen due to Pre-eclampsia. I’m due May 1st but April is looking more likely. I have an appointment next week with my midwife again. The last thing I need is a bunch of worrywarts so please let the issue drop ? and I’ll let everyone know If something changes!
Our KC trip for Christmas was chaotic but relaxing all at the same time. I miss my family dearly and I miss those big family holidays. I haven’t had one in years (4 I think?) and to say it had been too long is an understatement. I have family that hasn’t seen Patrick and I since we got engaged, let alone even meeting Braysen. He got to see his Great Grandparents on my step-moms side and oodles of aunts, uncles & cousins. What a character he was and it brought a smile to my face to see him interacting with everyone and how easy going of a kiddo he was around that many new faces. He must’ve known that he was in a loving place! He quickly picked up names, Papa, Nana, Justin, Molly and struggled a bit with Christina/Stina (who I tried to get him to just call Stinky! hehe…mean sister that I am!) He points them all out to me in the pictures we have in our house and on my background for my computer. I can’t even describe how sad I was to leave behind my family again and know that I won’t see them for a while or they won’t be part of Braysen’s life as much as I wish they were if we were closer. I really did move off to the farthest place west that I could go (as my parents joke) besides going off to say Hawaii or another country! There is nothing like a big family for the holidays imo!
The rest are off in my gallery.
I’ll cut the rest for those that are interested in random house junk– I hope everyone is doing well! I’ll probably be typing up a Braysen & baby mumbo jumbo post here soon but I’ll cut things so it’s not sooo long for those that don’t want to read about braysen happenings or baby stuff! I need some place to put all my ideas and lists at that are taking over sticky notes on my desk and in my purse!
After we got home from Christmas, we got the itch to start painting. I’m talking a painting frenzy really. We were literally painting every night pretty much for weeks…take in mind that we are slow painters and only paint when kiddo goes down to bed until we are too tired to paint anymore. Plus, we tend to do this in phases – 1st night all the trim work, 2nd night roll the walls, 3rd night 2nd coat the trim work and 4th night 2nd coat the walls (in the small rooms it went by quick but the great room took a bit longer because we all got deathly sick for like a week and a ½, plus the walls we did in separate nights with them being just a lot of work it seemed).
The downstairs now has painted:
the kitchen- a Merlot wine color, the nook- a Chocolate brown color, the great room- dark green accent wall for the fireplace/window wall and lighter green walls for the rest of the room and our hall bath- a golden/orange Tuscan color. I’ll get pics once I finish the 2nd coat on the bathroom downstairs…right now we have a Pug taking over that space! He might need to be relocated upstairs for a night so I can finish!
Next painting stops are upstairs: Master bedroom- limey green accent wall with chocolate brown stripe around the room (we think so far), Nursery to be- light blue with one wall striped red and navy (we think), laundry room- this grapevine purple/blue color (sooo pretty!) and maybe we’ll move on to the guest bath, guest room and halls but that’s getting a bit adventurous. I’ll be happy just finishing the master and nursery before baby arrives. Maybe the laundry room too since I spend so much time in there!!
Oh Patrick bought a new tv, theatre system, 80 gb PS3 (convinced me because it’s a Blu-ray player) and the new Harmony 1 remote 2 weeks back. We are addicted (slightly) to Rock Band. We’ve had friends over to play and it’s a riot to watch or participate in. I’m slowly getting better at the guitar but I don’t play that much….painting to do and things to get done b4 baby!
I’ll close this post for now – I hope everyone is doing well! I’ll probably be typing up a baby mumbo jumbo post here soon but I’ll cut things so it’s not sooo long for those that don’t want to read about baby stuff!
