Veggie Booty Recall

News Link for Recall

This is one of the most popular toddler snack foods out there right now and we have been giving this to Braysen for a while because he loves it. Well, I had to throw away our bag last night and then I started thinking about our last hospital trip when he was having high fevers, explosive diapers non-stop and overall sickly….the docs couldn’t figure out which virus or infection he had but it makes me wonder. Regardless, I’m happy that he’s healthy now and doesn’t show any signs of being sick atm.

Soooo if you do know what Veggie Booty is ~ throw your bags away.

How do you get a Kleenex to dance?

Put a little boogy in it!
or how about this one?
“Men should be like Kleenex, soft, strong and disposable.”

Braysen decided to raid the Kleenex box while I was getting ready for work earlier this week. I think he got at least ½ the box out on the floor before I took it away and made him a very grumpy little man! You’ll see in some of the pics that he actually puts the Kleenex up to his nose and blows out. He saw his daddy doing it last month or so ago and actually does pretty well at blowing his snot out into it. Sometimes he grabs paper towels, napkins, toilet paper and just blows ..even with no snot in his nose. Such a funny lil kiddo!

Today he scared the sh** out of me. I was upstairs getting ready for work and I had taken him up with me to change his diaper but I guess I didn’t latch the gate (when have I forgotten to latch the gate? I mean I ALWAYS do it!!) Who knows what went on in my mind but I forgot. I came out of the bedroom and am calling his name because it’s soooo quiet and this is very rare folks! I look over and the gates open, my heart races and I look down the stairs and there he is backing down all slow like and almost all the way down to the bottom. By the time I got to him he was at the bottom gate. WHEW, I can’t even tell you how happy I was that he actually went down backwards and didn’t fall. I was scared to death….mom without a brain award goes to me that morning!

I started Yoga last week and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I am taking it as a “class” for credit even. Guess I’m officially back in school, if you want to call it that. I actually need (3) credits from this area - HHP: Health and Human Performance so figured why not. It was a cheap $50 course for me and is until August plus it is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Yoga is much more intense then I thought it would be though and definitely more of a workout then the relaxing side I thought it would be. I realize I also that I haven’t completely lost my flexiblity but hopefully that and my balance will improve. The poses we did today were brutal but it seemed like I finally was figuring out the poses, flow and where my body position should be.

Because of Yoga my hours have been completely wierd, plus my boss has been trying to use up her well needed vacation time since campus is kind of quiet. I did get to take guppyman to the pool today before putting him down for his afternoon nap. He went underwater about 6 times and only 2 of them I counted 1,2,3 and put him under a bit. The other times he dunks his own head or face down and even was reaching under for the diving stick I had in my hand. He’s going to be a fish yet!! He gets so happy in the water and he does this goofy frog / dolphin lunge kick thing when you hold him under his belly. It’s so damn cute…what a true guppy!

So heartbreaking…please say a prayer for her

This had me crying last night and I cannot even imagine what this family is going through. This is a mom that is on a message board (thenest.com) that I used to visit pretty regularly before joining a toddler mom’s board. Saw this posted last night and I still can’t stop thinking about it. It makes me appreciate the hugs I give Braysen so much more.
Please keep this family and little girl in your prayers!

the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,

Braysen has always liked books but he is really getting into them. He brings them to us and climbs up on the couch and then plops down either next to you or in your lap. We have these books that have pictures of objects you see in daily life and he loves them most of all. He tends to favor these instead of his storybooks so far. We used to point at the objects and tell him the names but now he points and looks at you with questioning eyes like “what’s that?” He’ll even mumble something as he points almost like he’s asking you.

We make animal sounds for the animals and vroom vroom sounds for cars and trucks. Lately he’s become quite the yip yapper and imitates us all the time! He’s had a lot of new words but sometimes he’ll say them a few times one day and then I don’t hear them for days.

He roars at the tiger and started saying “tiger’ the other morning. He points at the babies or kitties and says their names. He woofs at our dog and other dogs then calls them dog …sounds more like “dahhhg” then dog. He moos at the cow sometimes and baas at the sheep on rare occasions. He takes his toes and presses them against the picture of the feet/toes and LOVES to eat our toes. YUCK! He says up and down for when he wants to be picked up or down and when he wants to upstairs or downstairs. He says dada but mama is rare and when he cries or is upset (*sighs, someday I’ll get a good mama out of him!!!). One of his favorite words is “baboon” aka balloon and everywhere we go he spots them. We’ll be in the car driving past a car dealership and he’ll start saying “baboon baboon” until we repeat it and then he points. At the grocery store he wants to visit all the “baboons”. We still have 1 balloon from his 1st bday party that he loves (yes, can you believe one is still floating, it’s the elephant – they were awesome balloons!!). There are lots more words where this came!!!

He loves being outside and we are “trying” to get the backyard weeded and ready to start some terracing slopes and landscaping the non-grass areas + get a deck built and dog run enclosed (a whole other post for another day!). We are going to get him a climbing structure thing for back there and hopefully a water / sand table so he can play while we get work done. Next summer we’ll get the swingset. He especially likes his visits to our neighbors house, Carl & Linda, because they have a roaring waterfall that flows into a pond in their backyard plus lots of dirt mounds that he likes to play in. They are also working on their yard but their water feature is stunning! He’s such a boy and it shows when he’s over there playing with dirt, picking up rocks and throwing them in their pond or just running back and forth over dirt mounds, all the while falling and just laughing as he covers himself in dirt!

Here’s some pics of our little book worm, more to come soon! I’ve been busy and slacking on updates! But oh the stories I have for the future…….such as Naked Guppyman in the mornings when daddy forgets to put shorts on him for nighttime and he pulls off his diaper and pees all over, or how about stories of Guppyman finding the toilet water for the first time!
