Got word on the 1st job with the Fire Dept. doing accounting. Well, the good news was I did make it into the top 5 to start (they I guess had 14 applicants but only took 5 to test) but I did not make it to the final 2. I kind of knew I blew some of the accounting & medical billing part. *sighs* Now, here’s hoping I can get good news from the other job or it’s back to square one. The other one is way more interesting to me and I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to have it. *sighs* I just can’t help but feel somewhat stressed about all of this going back to work stuff because finding a part-time job isn’t easy. *sighs*

Kiddo is either seriously fussy tonight from teething or something else is wrong. I hope it’s just him finally popping up a tooth. Wonder how much or should I say little sleep i’ll get. I’ve been getting at most 2-3 hours the past 4 nites. *sighs*

ok, for my geek side! I am so going to get that jinx infant creeper (dora sent me the link again tonight which reminded us) but we wanted to wait until he could wear it for more then a month or 2.
I neeed this bumper sticker..god i’m a geek!

So today, kiddo and I braved the rain to get his new big boy car seat. He has finally stepped up from his portable Graco Snugride because he’s too damn long!!!(Long & Skinny like his daddy!!!) The in-laws were VERY generous and bought us the carseat as our early present for X-mas since it was quite the expense. We were planning on getting it taken care of aka buying it ourselves before the end of the month but we got it early! I’ve had it picked out for ages though! We got it at the same store our crib was bought at, our first infant car seat was bought, our high chair was bought and numerous other wonderful purchases for kiddo. They have the Kelty backpack carrier we want too (instead of getting at REI and they had much better service in answering our questions and letting us try them out with kiddo in them!) What I love about the store is the service there is awesome and they do certified car seat installation so you don’t have to take it to the fire dept. or police dept. to get inspected to make sure you installed it correctly. They show you how to use everything! Did I mention they have about a million diaper bags i’d love to have – if I could figure out why i’d spend $100+ on a diaper bag LOL. I think i’ll stick to my Skip Hop bag instead. Although, I am going to have my mom order me a bigger day trip diaper bag for a x mas present I think.

Butttt First I had to brave the rain to go to Macy’s to buy some slacks that fit me since I have a test tomorrow for one of the jobs and the interview for the other job on Wednesday. I’m excited for both opportunities and hope that I can at least get an offer from one of the two, both offers would be nice too!! I have managed to go in reverse on my weight big time and i’m thrilled. Now if I can keep it off with all the rain and us not walking in the evenings as much. I need Patrick to get our Elliptical upstairs into the extra storage room. (we have a guest room and well a temporary storage – someday another kids room upstairs that is going to currently be the workout room or well storage of misc. things room LOL). I have gone down to a size 7/8 again and it’s amazing to me…I look back and I wasn’t in all that great of shape when I got pregnant imo. All my nice suits and professional work clothes don’t fit me atm so I managed to find a nice black skirt and black slacks for the interview process. If I get the job i’ll be hitting up the outlet mall for more things. Since doing a little shopping at Macy’s (thanks to the gift card), i’ve fallen in love with Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne and Ralph Lauren clothing. My taste just got expensive *sighs* I love the way those 3 clothing designers fit me. The outlet stores near us have outlets for them, plus an Eddie Bauer outlet so I foresee a shopping trip in the future, when I land a job!

Well, going to crack out (THANKS DORANA!!!!!)

First – Let me show you the pic of guppyman’s new big boy seat. COWMOOFLAGE!!!! (name of the fabric style)
Britax Marathon (supposedly one of the safest seats on the market and I love love how easy they are to use!)

Oh oh and you have got to see kiddo’s new shoes!!! DWAGGUN Robeez!! How I love Robeez shoes!!! I wish I could buy up oodles of them!

Happy Halloween and good job news!!!

I took the kiddo to Patrick’s work today for a Halloween party they had and everyone was amused by his costume :) I know he’s not old enough to trick or treat but we got so excited to pick out his costume we had to share it with everyone! Before everyone started trick or treating we took him over to a few of the neighbors houses to see him dressed up! Then the onslaught of kids started and omgosh did we have a ton of kids. We are talking close to $50 worth of candy …… Now here’s my rants from a few different situations today ~ kids that don’t dress up and go trick or treating, kids that don’t say trick or treat but speak spanish to me, kids that come back by the house for 2nd’s or 3rds thinking we’d be fooled, when you tell kids to take a few they reach in for 3 handfuls and you proceed to say “just take a few” in your cutest voice as they continue to take more, parents that trick or treat for their own candy…wtf, parents that drive around their jacked up SUV’s blaring out spanish music back and forth on our street as their kids go house to house and lastly..kids that even though there is clearly a taped LARGE piece of paper over the doorbell button that says “please knock, baby sleeping” proceed to ring the doorbell!! Besides all of that, I LOVE seeing the kids costumes and handing out candy. We were watching last weeks Battlestar “On Demand” in between doorknockings because we were at the pumpkin carving party thing last week and Patrick was ansy to see what we missed!

Here’s our squidkid (as patrick called him today at his work) but he’s actually an Octopus!

Oh and on the job front~ I got a call today while I was out from the City about one of the jobs and then when I got home another call from the other city job!!!! I have an interview for the one Nov. 8th and will find out tomorrow when the other will get scheduled!! Basically, I applied for 2 different city jobs, 2 different departments and types of work/job duties and they both had nasty long city applications but also had written examinations. I’m just happy to be a “candidate” so far and am hoping hoping that I can at least get an offer from one. They are sooo incredibly perfect for me. We are talking 19 hours a week and paying well, working for the city and ohhh i’d love to just work 19 hours leaving me time for kiddo!!! The job duties for both would fit me just fine and I do have experience in either, even though both are drastically different types of jobs. *crosses my fingers*

Well off to cuddle up!
Hope everyone had a safe halloween!
