so cool

Friday, September 29th, 2006

I just ordered one of these for kiddo! This way I don’t have to put him in my infant carrier everytime (i’ve been having some back issues thanks to carrying him soooo much!) It works for grocery carts but also high chairs and we got it in this color because we thought it’d work for a future girl someday :) (yes, we buy everything going - will this work for a girl in the future..call us hopeful….but a few years away yet on that one!)

6 months old

Munchkin is 6 months old as of this last Saturday. We had his doc. appt. yesterday, got himself 4 more shots :( Never easy that’s for darn sure!

27 1/2 inches long - 90% (tall and skinny like his dad)
just short of 15 lbs. - ~15 % (dropped a little, to be expected doc said as they start becoming more active ie. crawling)
16 something head - 25 % (staying the same %)

He’s a healthy little man and eating solids happily. I’m still making his own food and have quite the mixture in different freezer bags atm: sweet potatoes, avocados, applesauce, bananas and have carrots in the fridge ready to go.

The doc said that if he didn’t know better, he’d have thought this was a 9 month visit because Braysen is meeting all his 9 month developmental milestones already!!! He’s crawling / cruising, he’s sitting up by himself straight / getting to sitting by himself, and the big shocker really is he’s pulling to a stand against furniture by himself. (something the doc was really shocked by!)

All in all a good visit. I take him in again Nov. 2nd for a flu shot and then won’t be seeing him until 9 months.

Life at home is chaotic to say in one word. Patrick is sick and working too much imo. Kiddo is going through a growth spurt and his eatting / sleep routines are a nightmare. We are in the process of a few different painting jobs, hanging up things still, getting stuff unpacked, trying to clear space for the cars to park in the garage, getting ready for a housewarming party and a whole slew of other things. We are also watching his parents dog for 2 weeks while they are up visiting his brother in Wisconsin.

~sigh, need to get kiddo from the swing into bed

Almost done! We still have things..quite a bit of things actually…left to do in his room but you can see the beautiful crib that we finally got to set up. We also got his little alphabet cards up on the wall. We have yet to get touch up paint from our builder so our striping isn’t as clean as we’d like it but we’ll fix that once we get the paint. I’ll take a pic of the full nursery once we get the rest all done!

Cooper Mountain Winery

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Went to a harvest celebration at Cooper Mountain Vineyard today with Hank (my father in-law) and of course the hubby + kiddo. He bought us 2 bottles of exceptional wine there: 2004 Faces Pinot Noir and the 2004 Malbec. Cooper Mt. is an organic vineyard and “2002 Cooper Mountain Vineyards becomes first U.S. winery to gain label approval for a no-sulfite-added wine under the new National Organic Program standards. Label approval process proves difficult, but “Made with 100% Organic & Biodynamic® Grapes” statement approved for use on label.” We didn’t buy any of the non-sulfite stuff tho. Cooper Mountain is also the first Oregon winery to bring Malbec here and it is wonderful stuff!!!

Anyhow, a pretty pic I took of the grapes. I can’t wait to see more vineyards during the upcoming crush season!!!
