Happy Anniv. to us, Happy 4 mos. to Braysen & NOT CLOSING ON TIME GRR!

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

Well ~ long story made short. We ARE NOT closing today after all and we are crossing our fingers that we can even get closed by Friday. We had a loan agent who said he was progressing just fine on our loan, would finish it on time - on time was last Thursday btw. Patrick provided him all the needed information from our end and we were all set. Patrick called him last Thurs. to find out how things were going, no call back. He called again on Friday, Saturday & Sunday with no calls back. We had informed the sales office at our neighborhood about our problems early on so they also tried to make contact. They finally got their VP to call his boss and found out “he dropped the ball.” Yep, that’s right folks, the loan agent screwed up and didn’t get things done as he told he was. It has nothing to do with us or approval but the guy just obviously didn’t do something right on his end to get this done in time!! So we have his boss doing our loan paperwork now but it sounded like she was starting from scratch. Patrick is worried that we won’t get the same rate - we better since we had a Good Faith Estimate with the rates that we signed off of. We found out yesterday evening that this new lady to the sales office she would try to have it done by Thursday for us to sign, which means we would close on Friday. The HUGE problem with this is that we have our washer & dryer being installed Friday and an appointment for the blinds people to measure our house Friday morning also. We have our moving truck rented for Saturday so that should be ok as long as this goes through by the weekend. We have to be out of this apartment by the 31st and have it cleaned up so I really wanted to start hauling little trips of things over midweek and then just have the big stuff to load on Saturday but NOPE.

Braysen is 4 months!!! (as of July 23rd - also our 2nd wedding anniversary - also a year ago on our wedding anniv. I told patrick I was prego!!)
Munchkin is 25 1/2 inches long & 13 lbs.

Now we get comments all the damn time on him “being so small” from strangers and to be honest it annoys the crap out of us LOL. We told the doctor this yesterday and he told us “he’s not small, just the other kids are ginormous (his word) and will be 100 lbs by the time they are in preschool” LMAO. He said that society today is so used to seeing the “cute chubby cheeked babies” that they assume that’s how all babies should look and Braysen is perfectly fine and not “small”. He also commented, as always, on Braysen’s length because he’s really a long skinny baby taking after his dad already! I got the go ahead to start solids whenever I want but we all agree that it’s no rush and whenever i’m comfortable because he’s gaining weight just fine from me and breastfeeding is all he really needs. I think Patrick and I are going to introduce a little bit around 5 - 5 1/2 months but we’ll see.

He got 4 shots!!!! It was more heartbreaking this time then previous trips. He looked up at me after the first shot and his lip quivered, his face turned red and he just stared at me for a second before he started wailing. The poor little man was so upset. :( He seemed fine after wards and while eating dinner with the in-laws but last night when we got him home we noticed him warm. I hadn’t given him any Tylenol yet (usually give after his shots but had it here at the apt. not with us) so I gave him some immediately when I got home but I guess it wasn’t working yet. He started crying really hard, which he normally doesn’t do, and this went on & off for an hour before I got him to sleep. Then as he was laying up against my chest he would do these little whimper cries like he wasn’t feeling good. We had a little bit of a rough nite last night and he got another Tylenol dose in the middle of the nite. I felt so sorry for him :( It was very very sad. As I was laying in bed after getting him to sleep, Patrick leaned over and kissed me then said “you’re a very good mom”. It made me feel so good because sometimes you just hope you are doing the right thing.

Anyhow, the doc told me I could take Braysen swimming and put baby sunscreen on him now. He usually has you wait until 4+ months to put sunscreen on them or take them in chlorine pools and i’m glad he’s old enough because I can’t wait to use our new community pool!! Whenever we drive by we see families there swimming. Our neighborhood has oodles of families and little kids in all sorts of age ranges. (one of my fave things about this area)The heat here lately has been miserable :( I bought him a little thing seat tube thing to float in. With no ac, I have felt bad for the little guy. Yesterday was by far the worst day as we just sat in our apartment all day until his doctor appointment and cooked. We took a bath mid-day to cool off but it didn’t last long. Luckily, our afternoon was spent at the doctors and then the in-laws for dinner before coming home into a sweltering apt. It’s only supposed to be around 87-90 today though, big change from the 100+ the past few days!

A few shots from today ~ he was in a particularly playful happy mood!

check out this playful grin:

The landscaper I met with on Thursday did an awesome job on hiding some horrendous boxes we have located on our property. (I dunno if I mentioned this drama before on here or not) Anyhow, here’s one of the beautiful flowers he added to our landscaping to smooth things over! I’ll add pics of the rest later when they move the mailbox from the front as it will look even better then! For now here’s my flower! I didn’t get pics of the inside from the walk-thru because it was 105+ here yesterday and our AC wasn’t installed yet. *sighs*

Stolen from all the tons of you doing these matches:

I am Gemini, My Lover is Aries

Aries are fireballs of energy and airsign Gemini provide the oxygen to help their flames burn brighter. To say this is a good match is putting things mildly. You were probably attracted to them by their energy and light, their bountiful ebullience and passion. Emerson once said, “Nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm.” If this is true, your Aries lover will lead you down the road to great success. You get bored easily and Aries does too, so together you should have an exciting life! Allow your natural curiosity and your lover’s pioneering spirit to lead you places you’ve never been.

Physically, you both groove on the same magnificent vibes. Aries have very strong sex drives, and are passionate, powerful and playful. They want to try new things in bed, and you do too, so together you can have lots of fun. Your Aries likes to lead, and since you are a mutable sign, you won’t mind. Gemini long to hear the words of love and seduction spoken aloud, and your Aries will oblige you with marvelous verbal foreplay. Your Aries knows what you want and instinctively gives it to you.

Aries are adventuresome, busy and courageous. The action-hero of the zodiac, Aries initiate adventures. A Gemini’s job is to communicate to the folks who stayed at home all the exciting things that happened. As the natural journalist of the zodiac, you need to be objective, rational and truth-seeking. The trouble is, neither one of you spends much time with your emotions. Gemini and Aries may literally not sit still long enough to discover what is happening between the two of them on an emotional, intimate level. Strong water planets in your individual charts will definitely make up for this deficit, though. So, don’t worry. You know this liaison works, and works like dynamite! Let ‘er rip Gemini, and love your Aries!

===
This describes him pretty well but the part about not sitting still long enough to talk emotionally is bullarchy :) we talk emotionally & deep quite a bit! In fact, that’s one of the things I love most is the communication between us.

On other news though, I went to meet with the landscaper today at the house and tomorrow is our walk-thru. We have sort of bad news in that our ac will be installed next week but the coil they need for it to “work” is on backorder so the ac won’t be working yet. ARGGGG!!! I’m hoping that we may get lucky and it’ll be in by the end of the week when I want to go paint kiddos room or that will end up waiting. It’s supposed to be 100’s this whole weekend and in the 90’s all next week. I am starting to curse those that told me Oregon had nice mild summers!

Here’s a teaser of pics to come tomorrow once we do our walk-thru.

our kitchen: (not stainless but we are going to eventually replace our dishwasher with a stainless nicer one and our fridge from our NV house is stainless already- it at least matches black nicely)

stairway pic: I love the way the stairs look in this house and being at the center of the house. It makes for interesting views both up & down

I’m sure more will be following. I still cannot believe we are getting this house!!! I don’t know what i’m going to do with all this space but we’ll grow into it :)

~have a good evening all!

guppyman cuts tooth

Monday, July 17th, 2006

So we think guppyman has cut his 1st tooth. Yep, the doctor at his 2 month appointment that he didn’t think Braysen would be an early teether but he’s wrong wrong wrong. I’ve been having a heck of a time the past week with fussy guppyman that won’t nap, is cranky all day, running low grade temps, drooling like a faucet and trying to put everything he can into his mouth at all times. I bought some homeopathic teething tablets called “Rylands Teething Tablets” that are supposedly great so i’ve been trying those to see how they work for him. I think they are helping somewhat. I read about them on a breastfeeding board that I visit. I have all sorts of teething rings but of course he’s just now learning how to grasp and bring things to his mouth so those are a bit tricky at this age.

Saturday was a busy day full of shopping trips, Lowe’s trip to pick out paint colors for guppyman’s nursery, Target trip for necessities/window shopping and lunch with his parents to start that day off. On our way home from our last stop, Target, he was a bit fussy so I put my finger in his mouth to massage his little gums and felt something. I told Patrick to check when we got home and tell me if i’m imagining things. Sure enough Patrick described the exact location where I felt something. Soooo we are pretty sure guppyman is cutting his first tooth. We’ll see what the doc says on the 24th to our little munchkins progress.

We did make it out to look at the house again and the house looked pretty much done!!!! The oven isn’t in yet, the ac isn’t done yet and they were just starting to work on our landscaping. They have until Friday to finish the interior stuff and the landscaping stuff can be finished after so no biggy. The house inside though is soooo beautiful. They finally took off the stuff covering the wood floors, the stair railings and they have all the faucets / toilets etc. in now too!! We are soooo excited but trying to pack with a fussy guppyman is a challenge!!! I got his room packed last night while Patrick helped watch him. I started working on our glass candles and decor things to but didn’t get very far with that. I don’t know why I took out all this stuff to put up in our apartment but we didn’t know at the time when we’d move out of here so I wanted this to be comfortable until we did. Now I’m kicking myself for it, but heck I didn’t know we’d sell it in 3 months! (Not that i’m complaining of selling it lol) Thankfully, I just am packing up a small apartment and the rest of the house is sitting out at our storage shed. We really only have our kitchen stuff, some decor items, our bedroom stuff, the bathroom stuff, our computers and a few other random things.

Cuteness for the day~this was guppyman the other day when his fist was his best friend and he was being a grump ~cute but grumpy!
