The lil man had his 2 week appt. today and circumcision. We had a 1 week appt. last week to do a weight check that I forgot to post about but all went well. We love our pediatrician, he was the one that saw Braysen in the hospital after he was born also (decked out in spongebob squarepants tie and all!). He’s in a nice medical plaza across from the hospital and decorates all his patient rooms in different themes. Last week he was explaining to us how he spends more time at work then at home at times so he goes a bit overboard on the rooms. The room we were in was the space room, which of course Patrick was oggling over. We were briefly in the submarine room today Anyhow, at birth he was 6 lbs 8 oz. and last week at his 1 week appt. he was at 6 lbs 7 oz. which was ahead of schedule for him getting back to his birth weight. I guess it’s normal to lose up to 10% of their birthweight but should have it gained back within 2 weeks. He was almost back up after 1 week which means he was getting enough food from me This week he was definitely up in weight so we are doing well on the feeding stuff so looks like the breastfeeding thing is going good. I admit to being worried after hearing so many horror stories from women about quitting or supplementing etc.

We do go back next week to get Hep. B and PKU done since they don’t like to do that on the same day as the circumcision. Then we go back May 25th for his 2 month appt. His circumcision went well the doc said and he said that @ 2 weeks instead of doing it in the hospital after they are born they clot better and heal faster so here’s hoping he heals fast. I had to bring in a pacifier for him to use for sugar water to suck on but um he doesn’t like it hehe. I haven’t given him one at all because of the breastfeeding thing so the nurse had to use her finger with the water on it to calm him down some. He was starving from not eatting for the 2 hours they say to do before it. I did get to “top him off” lol in the room a bit to calm him before they started though but he was still a hungry hungry hippo! I am not good at this lil kid upset thing, hurts me as bad as him to change a diaper when he’s got an owie. Ah, to be a parent!!!

Well going to eat my pizza while I can. Hoping he sleeps a bit this afternoon. The doc said to let him just sleep as long as he wants really today so i’m hoping it’s worn him out some but not too much that he is up all nite

6 lbs 8 oz. 21 inches long 12 inches around head

1 week appt –
6 lbs 7 oz. didn’t take the rest just a weight check

2 week appt. -
6 lbs 131/2 oz. 21 inches long (stayed same hehe) and 13 1/2 inches around the head (so his head grew a bit, Patrick says his brain is getting bigger so he’s getting smarter LOL)
