when it rains, it pours!

So living in Oregon has been an interesting adjustment due to many things but oh oh the weather..how I do NOT like the rain. I’ve never liked the rain, yet here I am in a VERY rainy state. What was I thinking? Well, it is a better place to raise a family then Nevada – land of the whore houses and casinos. The weather is just hard to get used to is all and it happens to be that I moved here during the wettest winter in like 30 years. Out of 48 or something days, it rained 43 of them!!! That is just insane if you ask me and despite the temperature being very moderate and quite comfy, it’s wet 24/7 it seems! We’ve had flooding, mudslides and all sorts of fun stuff! It’s no wonder these people drink coffee by the gallons..you couldn’t function without it and probably would be depressed! But this last Sunday I thought I was seeing things, my eyes were mistaken me!!!! Low and behold, there is a sun that shines upon this state! We’ve had sunny days pretty much all week and i’ve seen a blue sky once again. It’s giving me spring fever but I still think i’m slightly seeing things and it’s all some dream that will go away here soon.

This last weekend we ran amuck to Babies R Us with Patrick’s parents to do a big shopping trip. We have another big trip scheduled in 2 weeks when Patrick’s patent $$ all go through (he got another Patent approved with GE so another bonus to him). I had a gift card from my mom to spend up and then his parents bought our Pack N Play so we’d have a place for baby to sleep if he comes before the house move (which is looking to be 99.9% likely – I’ll explain in a moment!). The necessities in case he comes early are pretty much bought but we still have odds n ends that we are putting off until the house. The furniture for the nursery we haven’t ordered yet because it will be delivered straight to the house and set up for us. Luckily it’s a 6 week delivery time only so we are planning on putting that order in at the beginning of March. Have my 34 week doctors appt. next week. Last weeks appt. went great and Patrick went with me to meet my nurse midwife. Baby is healthy, measuring on target and my blood pressure is remaining nice & low! (how can that be w/ my stress lately? LOL) We also met with our future Pediatrician / Family doctor on the same day and it went great. Not much else there but it’s getting more & more uncomfy as the days go on. I’m getting bigger, go figure, and get REALLY annoyed at the few comments I do receive on my expanding stomach. Good ol’ prego hormones ..it’s amazing the comments people say and you are supposed to smile big! It’s like ok, i’ve heard that comment a hundred times or ..don’t you know that you don’t comment on a pregnant women’s size? hehe

The big news last week was the status of the house we are building. It is right on time, part of me wishes it was delayed due to our Nevada house still on the market. We got a phone call to confirm an closing date of March 25th. (Remember i’m due March 31st/April 1st). Our house in NV is still on the market and we dropped the price down some, they are doing an open house and it looks like the house market is picking up some. The winter is the slow season and of course with the holidays, what were we truely expecting I guess? The spring is a hotter season so we are hoping for things to happen faster. It is looking though, that we may have to do a “Bridge Loan” in whcih we’ll use equity from our current to put against the new, which we’d have done anyhow for our down payment BUT …we’ll be owning 2 flipping houses…yes, that’s right 2 mortgages!!! HOW THE HELL???? Supposedly, i’m told all will work out yadda yadda yadda but my prayers need to be answered asap! I need less stress I tell ya so does baby!!!

Now for the pictures~ I always have to do a batch of them and these are of the house from Sundays visit!

1) front of house, notice blue sky 2) backyard – notice the LACK of (another story for another day) 3) dining room windows
4) great room windows from loft 5) loft area (future office) from great room

The rest of the pics can be seen @ House Construction Pics!!! – Feb. 5th

~back downstairs to join the family while dinner is getting ready I guess.

when i moved to california i actually missed the rain :) it keeps everything clean, it smells nice, it’s an excellent excuse to take up indoor hobbies, when it finally stops and clears the outdoors are stunningly green and beautiful, and for some reason, it seems to inspire a decent cup of coffee ;)

glad to hear your both doing well, and your guys new house looks amazing!
