1 day ….

Tomorrow is our walk-thru!!! Wohoooooo.  Bet you can’t tell that I’m excited?  We went last night to take a peek since our
sales lady actually had the keys for us to go in.  We had to take off our shoes but it was nice
to walk barefoot on our new carpet.  They
have a lot of work cut out for them today but we are optimistic after talking
to her.  The wood floor in the kitchen
looks beautiful and for the most part, the house looks so nice.  Afterwards we went to the Oak Furniture store
with our measurements we took of the entertainment nook.  Originally we wanted the model house’s
entertainment option until we learned of the cost and we thought we could build
our own.  Being impatient we decided to
not try our luck at building one and found a really nice oak tv stand that is
the perfect measurement to hold Patrick’s big
heavy arse tv and has some nice shelves with a glass front on it.  Hopefully it blends well with the other
furniture.  We are eventually going to
build 2-3 shelves above the tv also so it’ll look more like a built in
entertainment center.  We’ll go pick it
up on Saturday while moving in.  We’ll
have to pick up some ceiling fans also for the 3 rooms that we got
prewired.  Patrick
is going to make his dad help us install them thankfully.  I just don’t see Patrick
as the handyman type yet, but I’m sure he’ll grow into the role with owning a
house.

Here’s a few random pics that I took yesterday:

One word – IPOD!!! Omg this thing kicks arse.  I didn’t have time before class last night to
play with it so after I got home I went promptly to my computer and started
installing stuff and browsing away at I-Tunes.
I behaved and bought only 6 songs even though I have more on my “must
buy list”.  I decided to be responsible
and save my money for the house and buy a few.
Oddly, these weren’t really the songs I thought I’d end up buying.  I’m just weird in my taste of music.  I listen to everything from country to
punk.  You name it, I probably have some
of that genre.  I put a few other random
songs on it to start with while trying to figure out how this lil doodad
works.  I have it plugged into speakers
on my desk so have been jamming away all morning.

My recently purchased songs:
Maroon 5 – This Love

Maroon 5 – She will be loved

Kelly Clarkson – Breakaway

Turn me on – Kevin Lyttle

Dancing like making love – Kevin Lyttle

Dance like this – Wyclef from Dirty Dancing Havana Nights

Back to work ~ today is my cleaning up messes day so have
been running fun little reports and trying to corner the guys to go over
things.  I did get this cool new pen from
Honeywell today!  They had a training
here and Ed comes walking in with this fancy smancy pen that glows and also
flashes.  He was demonstrated it while
singing porno style music.  I told him I
wanted one but he said that I had to meet the guy first before I could so he
brought him into my office to chit chat then I got my pen! Ahhhh, the little
things in life.

Why pay $29, $39, $49, or even more for a monitored alarm system? We can monitor your alarm stysten for only $12.95 per month. Much like deregulation in the electric and gas business, we can monitor your exact same phone line and security system for much less than most companies. Many of the larger companies are raising rates because of the bad economy. We guarantee our rate for 36 months. Don’t be taken by the higher monitoring rates.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  17. Christian Louboutin Pumps Says:

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  18. cheap coach handbags Says:

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
