1 day ….

Tomorrow is our walk-thru!!! Wohoooooo.  Bet you can’t tell that I’m excited?  We went last night to take a peek since our
sales lady actually had the keys for us to go in.  We had to take off our shoes but it was nice
to walk barefoot on our new carpet.  They
have a lot of work cut out for them today but we are optimistic after talking
to her.  The wood floor in the kitchen
looks beautiful and for the most part, the house looks so nice.  Afterwards we went to the Oak Furniture store
with our measurements we took of the entertainment nook.  Originally we wanted the model house’s
entertainment option until we learned of the cost and we thought we could build
our own.  Being impatient we decided to
not try our luck at building one and found a really nice oak tv stand that is
the perfect measurement to hold Patrick’s big
heavy arse tv and has some nice shelves with a glass front on it.  Hopefully it blends well with the other
furniture.  We are eventually going to
build 2-3 shelves above the tv also so it’ll look more like a built in
entertainment center.  We’ll go pick it
up on Saturday while moving in.  We’ll
have to pick up some ceiling fans also for the 3 rooms that we got
prewired.  Patrick
is going to make his dad help us install them thankfully.  I just don’t see Patrick
as the handyman type yet, but I’m sure he’ll grow into the role with owning a
house.

Here’s a few random pics that I took yesterday:

One word – IPOD!!! Omg this thing kicks arse.  I didn’t have time before class last night to
play with it so after I got home I went promptly to my computer and started
installing stuff and browsing away at I-Tunes.
I behaved and bought only 6 songs even though I have more on my “must
buy list”.  I decided to be responsible
and save my money for the house and buy a few.
Oddly, these weren’t really the songs I thought I’d end up buying.  I’m just weird in my taste of music.  I listen to everything from country to
punk.  You name it, I probably have some
of that genre.  I put a few other random
songs on it to start with while trying to figure out how this lil doodad
works.  I have it plugged into speakers
on my desk so have been jamming away all morning.

My recently purchased songs:
Maroon 5 – This Love

Maroon 5 – She will be loved

Kelly Clarkson – Breakaway

Turn me on – Kevin Lyttle

Dancing like making love – Kevin Lyttle

Dance like this – Wyclef from Dirty Dancing Havana Nights

Back to work ~ today is my cleaning up messes day so have
been running fun little reports and trying to corner the guys to go over
things.  I did get this cool new pen from
Honeywell today!  They had a training
here and Ed comes walking in with this fancy smancy pen that glows and also
flashes.  He was demonstrated it while
singing porno style music.  I told him I
wanted one but he said that I had to meet the guy first before I could so he
brought him into my office to chit chat then I got my pen! Ahhhh, the little
things in life.

Kittens, house angst, and schooling

Everyone needs some cuteness for their Monday so here is my
latest Xaria pictures at 5 weeks!

2 days left until our walk-thru and 5 days until our
closing!  I am a little worried about the
completion of the house after our usual Saturday visit.  Our sales lady wasn’t there and the house was
locked so we could only peer through the windows but what I saw surprised me.  Our wood floor in the kitchen/dining room
wasn’t put down and the appliances weren’t installed yet.  The blinds, surround sound, repaint the
outside framing screw up and other touch-up work weren’t done yet either. I
understand they have a few days yet but that seems like a lot of work to be
done still with them having only 2 days to complete it.  We have our dining room furniture set being
delivered on Sunday, our appliances (refrig, washer and dryer) arriving on
Tuesday and our DSL *sighs* won’t be installed until the 10th.  We can’t really handle another delay at this
point.  What bothers me the most is the
house next door to us really has been further along then ours since they
screwed up the optional bathroom/ framing of the house.  They close a week and ½ after us yet they
have all their floors in and really do look more polished.  Oh well, out of our hands and guess we’ll
just wait and see.  Meanwhile here’s a
picture of the house with the front yard getting closer to being done.  They have to put bushes and the trees in
yet.

School starts tonight and I’m not that thrilled.  I have Illustrator classes tonight, which I
am looking forward to but at the same time it’s just a rough week to start
classes with the move and all.  Not to
mention, I have an online class and last night I got my email information to
get that all setup.  I logged in and
start looking around to find quite a bit of stuff to do before the 7th.  The problem there lies in that we will have
no dsl in our new house until the 10th.  That means I have to get this assignment done
before Friday and part of next weeks done also since I won’t have access at
home to do them.  The online class is
going to be a rough one as it’s web scripting – aka java.

On other news ~ my ipod should be arriving today!! WOHOOOO
thanks to Mike!! Patrick’s friend that works at apple, how I love thee!

8 days until we close on our house!!! 6 days until we do our walk-thru!

Meanwhile, i’m busy packing without little help from the man.  I
told him at the very least he had to go thru all his computer bits and
pieces.  Last night, we narrowed his parts down to one decent
sized box so i’m happy.

I also redid my web home page although i’m not sure if I like it quite
yet but it’s at least something new and different.  See it here

Patricks friend ordered us an Ipod for our wedding present and I cannot
WAIT until this thing gets here.  I’ve been on cd shopping hold
due to the move and am getting ansy to get some new tunes!

Yesterday, I had a voice mail from my college about one of my classes
being cancelled so I spent half my morning trying to figure out how to
rearrange my classes but failed.  I ended up just picking up
another management class because I loved my first one with this
professor so much and I did very well (A) in it.  He even
recommended that I take his small business management class if I had a
chance so wala I fit it in this semester.  Never hurts to have
more management style classes and also, i’m thinking of making that my
double major but not sure yet.  I guess it’ll depend on how long I
want this major to last me. I am like a perma student at times.
We did go buy all my books for class last night $250 worth YIKES!
Then it was a nice trip to Office Depot for notebooks and all that jazz.

Anyhow~ back to work for me.  Had major billing problems yesterday
afternoon and need to work on fixes. /sigh  Nothing like problems
at 4:30 right before you leave.

round ..round..

“you spin me round round baby round round”

I dunno if someone, my job or just the amount of things on my mind are spinning me round round but tis life.

My web server from my hosting company took a dumb last Friday and Saturday I emailed them to find out what happened, only to find out they were moving me to a new server because the other went caput for good. LOVELY! They worked on switching my files over but on the switch they managed to screw up my gallery full of pics. I emailed them about it and they recommended a reinstall. I asked Bryan *hugs* to help me out, since he was the one to put it on in the first place. His findings, reinstall. Welp, there went all my galleries and all my uploaded pics. I was smart though! I copied all my pics onto my computer at home so they were at least saved. Last night, I spent half my night uploading the pictures and trying to get my galleries at least up but they are far from being organized. It was a newer version of gallery so that’s kind of cool at least. I need to redo my whole website with the wedding being over and all, plus I get bored with the designs after a while.

Good news on the house front!! Went out on Sunday to find our lights all in and the faucets, sinks going in etc. Yesterday we got a call to let us know our carpet was going in so we can’t just go walking through it without a sales person with us anymore. Tomorrow will be 1 week from our walk-thru so I think we are going out tomorrow nite to take more pics and see how things are looking. Patrick’s parents are coming into next weekend to help us with the move so that should be a ton of help plus I’m hoping we can grab some other help. I want this to be as quick and painless as a move can be. (I may be kidding when I think this may go pretty smooth.)

On the pet front, I have new pics of our kitten at www.endlessimaginations.com/gallery/xiara.

Patrick has been on his puppy search for a breeder with Alaskan Malamutes and found one that he loved their dogs so he emailed them. The woman wrote us back and asked more about us. We answered her questions, I hope providing her a good feel about us and what we are like. I know my mom is picky on where her kittens are placed and even makes prospective owners fill out a form of questions. I am glad they screen owners because I hate hearing of abandoned or neglected animals. I watch the animal planet station from time to time and if you’ve ever seen the show where they have basically cops for protecting animals and the cases they get called out, you can see the horrific things that happen to them. It makes me almost cry seeing some of that stuff. I just can’t imagine why people do that to animals.

Anyhow, I’m back to work for another 30 minutes then I think we are off to Bed Bath and Beyond for maybe some shopping with our gift certificates and Patrick wanted to head to Sears to use our other one for a laser leveler for the house. I’m thinking we should actually get a nice house tool set with a laser leveler and a stud finder. We have NO tools really and I’m thinking it’s about time to start buying some.
